OVO 2

What does "OVO 2" mean?

Dedra Games' skilled team has created OVO 2, the much anticipated sequel to the wildly successful OVO platformer. In OVO 2, you control a stickman character as you progress thru more difficult stages, testing your platforming abilities.

The new version improves on the previous one by introducing better graphics, physics, more movement options, and more content to the story mode, making advancing thru it more exciting.

How OVO 2 Works: A Guide to the Game

Basic System for Moving

The four basic moving skills required to operate OVO 2 are sprinting, jumping, sliding, and wall-jumping. You can run about and move horizontally across stages by holding down the left or right arrow keys.

The up arrow allows you to jump up, which is useful for navigating gaps and hurdles. If you press the down arrow while sprinting, you can slide to avoid low spikes and continue.

Wall-jumping and jumping off vertical surfaces are possible by pressing the up arrow while sliding down a wall. This lets you get up difficult vertical parts. In OVO 2, mastering these basics opens the door to more advanced moves and faster finishing times.

More advanced combo moves

Expert OVO 2 players know that combining simple moves gives them big advantages when moving. Jump-sliding is when you jump right after sliding, which moves you horizontally further while keeping your air-based momentum.

When you land, pressing the "super jump" button and the down arrow at the same time speeds you up to full speed right away, which is very useful for speedruns. When you dive-jump, you do down-presses in the air and then jump back up to keep your top speed over long distances.

Wave-dashing carries out exact directional inputs to make movement as efficient as possible. These advanced combos are what set top OVO 2 speedrunners apart from casual completionists.

How to Play OVO 2

The process of starting up OVO 2 is easy. Here are the steps you need to take to start your platform gameplay:

To get to the game, use any web browser to go to the OVO 2 portal. There's no need to install anything or make an account—you can start playing right away.

  • Pick a game mode: You can play in Campaign Mode (where the story takes place) or Speedrun Mode (where you race against the clock). Campaign Mode is the best place to start for new players.
  • Get used to the basics: Learn how to move with the arrow keys (or WASD), how to jump with the up arrow, and how to slide and smash with the down arrow.
  • Complete Level 1: Jump for the first time and learn how your character reacts. Level 1 teaches basic movement with few big problems.
  • Move forward with the tutorials: Each of levels 1 through 5 adds a new mechanic. Finish these to get good at the basics before moving on to more difficult tasks.
  • Practice wall-jumping: When you reach Level 3+ and come across high walls, practice timing your jumps over and over again until it becomes second nature.
  • Improve your combo skills: After finishing the basic lessons, try out jump-sliding and other more difficult combos.
  • Collect coins: As you play, collect the coins you can see in each level to later unlock new skins for your characters.

Accept that you will fail. In OVO 2, you have to try each level more than once, and you can expect to retry difficult stages dozens of times.
To make changes, finish levels by collecting coins and then use the credits you earn to buy skins for your characters on the main menu.

Controls

  • Left and right arrow keys to move left and right.
  • Up arrow key to jump
  • Down arrow key to slide or smash downwards
  • Wall jump: Press 'Jump' while near walls.

Tips for OvO 2

Start the slides before low ceilings or tunnels so you don't clip the edges. Slide early and release late.

  • Chain distance from a slide: A slide jump goes further than a regular jump, which is important for big gaps.
  • Smash to make changes: Missed a platform? A smash in the air straightens the landing.
  • Touch walls on purpose: micro wall slides buy time to make jumps safer.
  • Check out trap cycles: Start clean on the first cycle; later on, the times will be easier.
  • Make two routes: A clear, safe route and a dangerous PB way. Switch once it's clear.

Cut down on the bends. Platforms with shallow angles save frames without wild jumps.

Clear the level first to get 100% coin lines, then play it again to get more coins.

Focusing on one part for 15 to 20 minutes at a time is better than grinding for hours on end.

Feature of OvO 2

  • Momentum parkour combines wall, slide, leap, and smash actions that may be stacked to create fluid flows.
  • Short levels that can be repeatedly played: instant retries promote experimentation and rapid improvement.
  • Coin routes that you may utilise to add goals, skins, and more intelligent lines are known as risk-reward coins.
  • Simple aesthetics: minimalist art draws your attention to movement and time.
  • Small inputs, brief stages, and a decent degree of optimisation depth make it speedrun-friendly.
  • Cross-device play: You can use a browser to play on a PC, phone, tablet, or Chromebook.

OVO 2 shows that a few sharp moves can make depths that go on and on. Slide early, chain smart jumps, and smash with all your might. The momentum loop is fun whether you're clearing your first world or shaving seconds off of a coin route.
